Eradicate Age Spots

Age spots are just a constant reminder that time is passing you by. These small brownish marks are also known as liver spots – although they are nothing to do with the liver at all, and are fortunately not painful. But they tend to form in areas that are eminently visible such as the face, neck, hands and feet. Age spots actually are caused most commonly through the effects of the sun. This is because the powerful rays of the sun can cause a localized area of melanin and this is what leads to the aptly named sun spots. There are other reasons though; free radicals, disease or long episodes of sickness can all damage the cells of the skin. Luckily there are home remedies that can do well in helping to eliminate them.

Lemon Juice works as a bleach and can be applied to the age spots. It takes some time but because of the citric acid, the age spots will gradually start to disappear.

Apple Cider Vinegar can be added to a glass of water and then drunk. It only needs a couple of drops and honey can be added to improve the taste. You can also apply directly to the spots to gradually reduce their appearance.

Aloe Vera Juice has tremendous therapeutic and healing powers and is excellent for scars and even burns. Fresh gel from the plant or the juice can be added straight onto the spots. It has rejuvenation powers and can help to replace the dead skin cells.

Papaya – raw flesh can be rubbed onto the spots, leave on for a few moments and then wash off.

Olive Oil and Vinegar – Mix some oil and vinegar together, apply the mixture twice a day for several months and this should begin a transformation.

It might not be pleasant but a paste made out of garlic can be really useful in treating age spots, cucumber also has bleaching properties and equally are beneficial to help ease the dark spots.

There are a number of natural remedies that are easy to mix up. All will take some time but with careful and regular application, you will start to see results.
