Your skin is the largest organ that you have but it can act as a beacon, announcing to the world exactly how you are feeling. When you feel unwell, you can guarantee that your skin will reflect that and when your skin breaks out in spots, often we wish to hide away. We all long to have beautiful skin and a glowing complexion but it’s not as difficult as you might think to achieve lovely looking skin. All you need to do is to take care of yourself from the inside out.
This means cutting back on those processed foods; and instead opt for lots of fruits and vegetables, taking the time to make your own healthy and nutritious foods. Cut back on alcohol too and if you smoke, try to stop. Alcohol dries your skin and smoking is responsible for aging your face substantially.
One of the most important things you can do is to drink plenty of water. Instead of reaching for the can of sugary soda drink, pour yourself a glass of water and add a slice of lemon to it. Much more refreshing and it’s good for you, too.
Your diet needs to be rich in nutrition and water will help to flush out any toxins. Sleep is equally important though. If you are guilty of staying up late and burning the proverbial candle at both ends, then it’s time to readdress your sleeping habits. Try adding a few drops of lavender essential oil to your pillow or to your bath water before turning in for the night. If you are weighed down by anxieties, then sleep may not come easy.
Equally, don’t forget to exercise. Give your circulation a boost and send nutrient rich blood around your body, including to your face. Practice inverted yoga poses too as these will increase your circulation to your face. Choose any skin creams carefully and opt for those that are gentle and nourishing.
